There are certain advantages and disadvantages of not starting a family until a woman turns 35.

One of the advantages of not starting a family until a woman turns 35 is the emotional, financial

and social security. The woman will be emotionally stable to take care of the child in a better

way. She will be socially secure because she will have maturity and patience to deal with the

problems related to upbringing of babies. One cannot ignore the psychological factor because it

has been observed that older parents are more patient and calm than the younger patients.

Financial stability and established careers are additional advantages that provide security to the

woman if she plans for a baby after 35 (Newman, 2012).

One of the disadvantages is the age factor. Due to the age factor, there is lack of physical energy

and the mother may feel tired while taking care of the baby during the early years. There are

chances of biological complications too because of the age factor and this stands as a major

disadvantage because doctors have to take extra precautionary steps if the mother is above 35

(Newman, 2012).
