Q1. Elizabeth Sprigs was a white woman who had come to this land as an indentured servant; she had some sort of differences with her father. After coming here she realized that the conditions were very bad and she was not happy with conditions in which she lived. She was an indentured servant who surrendered her freedom for a specific period of time. She toiled all through the day and complained of being exploited by her master. She was tied and whipped in a way and she felt that even animals got better treatment than her. This was a time when the Negroes or the blacks were working as slaves. They were whipped and exploited by their white masters.
