make sure you do the following: discuss all three articles for Assignment #1a in your one-page response; complete the 25 word or more response to the results for Assignment #1b; and include an image from your period of time along with the 1/2 page discussion of your selected activity.
> 1a:
> Your assignment is to write a 1-page paper (remember to double space, use 12 point font, and 1" margins all around) on your leisure history as a teenager as it relates to the concepts from Last Child in the Woods, the Free Range Kids Movement, and the Over-Parenting ideas you have been reading about. This paper should be a combination of some the knowledge on these subjects you've learned along with your personal reflections. Please keep this to 1 page - I am not looking for fluff, but rather some serious edited, to the point, writing. Please DO NOT include a header with your name, date, etc. or any references.
> 1b:
> For Assignment #1b complete the attached document: Twenty Things I like to Do. Fill this out completely - for the last few you will have to stretch your mind a little. In 25 words or more, what do you think of this list of activities?

> 1c:
> Students are assigned a two decade period from 1950 to 1970 to do some research in order to discover a leisure activity (not one discussed in the book) that originated or was very popular in that period that you would have liked to participate in. Write a 1/2 page paper on the activity + find and add a picture of the activity for the other 1/2 page. The real goal here is to find something new and fairly unique - i.e. I don't really want to read about baseball.

After reading the articles, I feel my leisure history is very poor. I did not get the chance to enjoy in the parks and woods. I did not get a chance to go boating and fishing in lakes, nor did I get any chance to climb mountains or go for trekking. The reasons are simple and obvious; my parents were scared and felt that the school and the walls of the house were more protective than open grounds. They felt the swimming pool in the school, the gym in the school and the sports in the school were enough physical activities necessary for my development. They used to take me to amusement parks during the summer holidays. Sometimes, we also used to go for long driving, but that is all I recall about my outings with my parents. They never left me along to enjoy on my own, so my favorite leisure activities were to watch cartoons on television, play with the make-break kind of toys as my parents believed it will help me to develop my engineering skills and playing video games, which again were decided by my parents so that I could develop my cognitive and motor skills.
