I believe that we do need a place to safely dump the nuclear waste and the vast desert of Texas is an acceptable site for now, but definitely the pros and cons being raised should be considered before dumping the radioactive waste in the vast Texas deserts.
Will the radioactive dump prove risky for public?
The radioactive waste is being concentrated to reduce its original size, and this concentrated dump will be more radioactive, so won’t this increase the risks?
Will the water bodies get affected due to the radioactive dump?
The radioactive dumps in the other parts of the country have leaked or are leaking, so who will give the guarantee that this dump will not start leaking?
Radioactive waste is highly dangerous, and it is essential to dump it before it can lead to grievous injuries, so isn’t it necessary to dump the radioactive waste right away?
The government has chosen the Texas desert site after careful study; can we expect the U.S. government to do such a grave mistake of making purposeful errors that may harm the public?
Risks are involved everywhere and in every field, Japan did not expect the Tsunami, but it occurred, similarly how can we guarantee that the radioactive dump may not leak in future? Which humanly created thing has survived the tides of time?
