A Look inside the Brain in Real Time: Christopher deCharms

This video is innovative and showed something novel. We all are aware of the MRI scan and

how it helps the medical community. Christopher shows a new aspect in this video and shows

the usage of the MRI scan to control the pain cycle. It is interesting to see that a person inside the

scanner can actually see the points that are working inside his brain to move his arm.

Quyen Nguyen: Color-coded Surgery

Quyen Nguyen has given an important point in this video that any innovation is not as dramatic

as shown in movies or the way it is described in books. Innovation is team work and innovative

techniques are hard work too.

Pawan Sinha: How Brains Learn to See

An interesting and informative video and it provided knowledge about a new concept. My

knowledge about the eye problems and blindness is not so good. I could see in the video the

practical difficulties of blind people and I appreciate the hard work of Dr. Pawan and his

colleagues who are trying to help children get their vision.

Three Clues to Understanding Your Brain: Vilayanur Ramachandran

The speaker explains the structure of the brain and tells that it is just three pounds of flesh, which

is a mystery. Then he proceeds to talk about the number of neurons, their arrangement and the

difficulties involved in studying the brain. I liked the idea of mirror neurons, which play an

important role in imitation and emulation. Neurons can help in understanding empathy and

touch.

How Brain Science will Change Computing: Jeff Hawkins

Jeff Hawkins appears to be a confident person and proudly explains that he is an expert in

computers and brain science and therefore he can connect the brain and the computer

technology.

A Computer that Works Like the Brain: Kwabena Boahen

Kwabena Boahen is a typical computer man and when the speech starts we can understand that

he is an expert in his field and knows the in and out of computer. He must have been interested

in computers right from childhood.
